Hello and just thought we would give you a little update to how we are getting on:D
The new cd will be available in late spring and you will be able to download in all the usual outlets. We are also thinking of returning to our roots when we first started out and will probably be making available individual tracks for download in the near future instead of releasing whole cds but we will keep you posted. As for the music still writing and recording - in fact completed a track this morning so feeling pretty pleased. We hope that you are all well.

We have had a very strange year with lots of creativity but not quite in the direction of SOUNDICIAN but things are hopefully going to settle down soon and we are aimimg to release the new album in early spring - it is in the mixing stage.
We are still working and have a little side project on the go at the moment, which we hope will come to fruition soon.

Hello friends
and I have to firstly apologise for being very tardy in keeping in touch with what has been going on here.
We are in the process of putting together our next release that will celebrate our 10 th Anniversary this year.
I have been writing and recording several new tracks and have completed an album that will be released next year.
Also we are thinking about sticking our heads above the parapet and joining the myspace and facebook generation - if you can't beat them join them. We thought that it may be another way to keep in touch and perhaps connect with some new listeners.
I shall be updating the site and this blog soon, so look out for further info in the near future.

Good news - Our CD L.S has been in the Zone Music Top 100 Chart for the past 2 months . We would like to thank all the DJs who have continued to support our music and our small but loyal band of fans around the World who have bought our tracks / cds - A BIG THANK YOU.
We are currently back in the studio writing and recording for the new release due in the Spring 2010. We are thinking of putting together a special release next year to celebrate 10 years of Soundician. Watch this space.

Things have been quite hectic lately on the homefront and so this blog has been neglected of late. However, it doesn't mean that nothing is happening on the SOUNDICIAN front.
STILL has been given quite a lot of airplay and is still in the charts of New Age Reporter. We charted at 24 in March and then 46 for April. This means that the cd has charted since the beginning of the year. We would like to thank all those DJs who have continued to champion our music including shows on KKUP, KUAC, RFI Romania, WKNH, WMSE,WTUL, WWSP, WXDU, and KCSN. Meanwhile, We would like to also thank Melodious Synth on Live 365 who have continued to play our music for the past couple of years.
We have decided to let STILL have its' time in the limelight and so are delaying our next release to early next year but it is already in the mixing stage and I continue to write and record,working on a new project due for release later next year.
Again, thank you to all our supporters - We think about you a lot even though it may be a little quiet for a while. Peace and Respect to You All.

Although we are not quite within the realms of Jeremy's usual artists for review, he has always given us a listen and written very fairly about our music for a number of years. For that we thank his perserverance:D

Spring is Around the Corner

Thought that I would just give a little update to how things are going and they are going very well for SOUNDICIAN.
We have had a very positive response to our cd STILL and it has been played on several radio shows since its' release. We have just found out that Jerry Nelms / 'Music from Beyond the Lakes' at WDBX has placed it number 1 on the top 20 for February and Mystic Eric at KKUP has placed it at No 6. This seems to be a good omen :D
Also some of you may be wondering how to get hold of STILL? Well you can get the cd at CDBaby but although it has been sent to iTunes for Digital Downloads, it may take a little while before you can download tracks. Be patient and I will let you know when they are ready.
In the meantime, Kit is in the studio, mixing our next cd due out in the Summer and I am busy writing for next years releases, so it is all looking good and Spring is just around the corner. As always peace and Respect.

We have finally released our sixth album - STILL - and have already had a good response to it. Although it is not easy listening, it has already had a few radio plays, namely on WTUL, KUAC,KTEP, WXDU, WSCS, WFIT, and Radio Despi in Spain. We have also been given a promising review on Sonicimmersion in the Netherlands (http://www.sonicimmersion.org/). So thank you to those who have sat and listened and deemed STILL worthy of some recognition.

This past year has been very quiet on the Soundician front with regard to releases but we hope to make up for it next year.
In January we are releasing our sixth album, a dark and wintry ambient mix and hope to follow this in early Summer with our seventh release, much more melodious and warm.

NEW ALBUM UPDATE

Finally, the new album is finished and we will soon be putting the final details to the artwork etc., before we start sending them out in January. We will keep you all posted about the final release date and I shall be in touch with 'old friends' who may wish copies for their radio shows and reviews.
Also of some interest is our involvement with the WWUH stations' Marathon Fundraiser in February. Along with some very esteemed artists, we were asked to donate a track that will be put on a sampler cd to help with the fundraising by Susan Mullis, who's show Ambience has supported us from the very beginning. Of course we wanted to help and have sent 'Edge' from Memorophilia to be considered for inclusion.
If you are in the Hartford, CT area please support this local radio station during its fundraising. Stations and shows like 'Ambience' keep the music alive and 'out there' so to speak and enable listeners to hear a wider range of music, than they would otherwise on the larger networked stations. Give net radio your support.

Happy Halloween

Well it's that time of year again when things start to slow down in the studio because of other things going on especially thinking about Christmas coming. Kit is nearly finished with the new album and I have begun work on demos for a new project. I have 4 songs sort of written and hope to sit down and do some more tommorrow. As for this week it began brilliantly as we all went out to see Arcade Fire at the Metro Arena. It was magical except for the rather rude people behind us who decided to have a shouting conversation throughout. In the end it required Kit to turn around and ask them in no uncertain terms to shut up. What is it with Concert goers now? They seem to treat a gig as part of the evenings' pub crawl, ending up at gigs half cut and not interested in the artisit on the stage. This has happened several times to us. One of the worst experiences was at a Mercury Rev gig at the local Uni where not only were people out of their minds on drink but also texting each other all the way through. Enough already! Its not all bad as we did go and see Jim White at the Sage and it was not only a fabulous gig but we got to speak to the great man afterwards which really made Kits' day.
Well, best sign off here. Oh by the way many many thanks to the guy from Utah who bought all our catalogue this week, it really really made our week and means our website stays up for another couple of months. Thank you - you know who you are.
Well bye for now off to have a spot of lunch and to kill a few monsters on Final Fantasy with my daughter.

A Bit of Background

Some of you might be wondering what has happened to us in these last months especially since we promised to release the next album by now?
Well we havent been sitting in the Bahamas living the life of famous rock stars.
In fact life has well and truly bitten us recently, postponing the release date for another couple of months, of the new cd.
Unfortunately, our Jewel was struck down with a mystery illness which has meant that all love, energies and support has been directed towards her and not the music. Also, after a long illness, the last remaining close and influential member of my family died in July, leaving me somewhat battered and bruised.
On the Soundician front the machine that burns our cds gave up the ghost and we had a couple of weeks trying to get that sorted. Not really done yet, so Kit has had to resort to our old faithful method of cd copying, which is a little longwinded. Then as a final straw, my old computer that I do the artwork on and write our letters etc gave up and went the way of all flesh. This meant that since I hadnt backed up my precious files, stupidly, I lost them. I have had to start again doing all the cd covers etc.,from scratch.
It hasnt all been a bad year, Memorophilia was voted on the final list of nominees for Best Electronic Album 2006 for New Age Reporter and the certificate dons the wall in our studio to prove that we reach some people with our music. It also spurs me on when times get a little hairy as they have in the last year.
I did finish a collection of tracks dedicated to people that I have known due for future release.
As for the new album - it will be released in January 2008. It is finished and Kit is in final production / mixing, while the artwork is all ready to go. Its' sound is , not surprisingly, dark and contmplative but it is still definitely Soundician.
As a compensation we hope to release another album later in the year based on an artists work but more on that in the future.
In the meantime, life goes on and so does Soundician.

Hello and Welcome

Just a quick hello to those who may decide to read this and find out a little about SOUNDICIAN.
We are in the middle of constructing this blog but eventually we will be writing about our work, influences and difficulties that we experience as musicians.
